Drypoint: scratching a drawing into the surface of a metal plate (I use
copper) and then printing from that. It creates a dark, velvety sort of line.

Etching: using a chemical (ferric chloride in these cases) to eat into the
copper and printing from that.
The lines here are drypoint, and the tones are etched.
